What is Packer Relining?

Packer relining is the process of pipe patch repair to only the damaged areas of your system. When damages are less than two metres in length, it’s often easier to repair the damaged portion instead of the entire pipe. The process of packer relining is similar to inversion relining and pull in place relining, but it is only done on a portion of the system. This process can also be completed in areas where inversion relining is not possible, making it an ideal solution for harder to access places.

How Does Pipe Patching work?

When you contact Canberra Pipe Relining, a dedicated member of our team will be dispatched to your location to assess your situation. They will be able to determine which of our services is best suited for your system and if packer relining is your best choice.

1. Measurement
Your technician will begin by assessing your entire system and measuring the area that needs repair. After determining the scope of the repair, he will create a felt mould liner of the damaged area.
2. Patching
The custom felt lining will be placed into the damaged area of your system with an inflatable bladder inside. A resin solution will be pumped into the felt for absorption and the bladder will be slowly inflated. Once the resin has set, the bladder will be deflated and removed, leaving a resin cast of the damaged area.
3. Quality Assurance
Once your technician has completed the repair, they will conduct a quality check of the area. They will test your entire system to ensure the repair was successful.

When faced with needing a repair, it’s best to trust the professionals. Contact us to book your next service today.

I arrived at my townhouse on a Friday afternoon at about 1:30 after a week away to find that the hot water service had sprung a leak during my absence. I called Water Tight and a representative (Tom) was here within an hour. After an inspection and quotation Tom undertook to replace the HWS that day and did so with two other members of staff. I was very favourably impressed with the prompt and efficient service. I would recommend Water Tight to anyone with an urgent plumbing problem.

We have been chasing a plumber for months in Canberra, when today we saw Water tight in their van at a neighbor. One call and the wonderful receptionist organised for Aaron to come over in his Lunch and fix our major shower blockage. What can I say, OMG!!! This is service, Aaron would not settle for anything less than perfection. Pulled the shower apart, explained in detail to me everything that was happening and found the annoying problem. A old piece of plastic off the washer stuck in the pipe. He even gave me great advice on our toilet issues and over pressure issues. Unbelievable service, more intent on fixing the problem and doing it right than ripping us off. I wholeheartedly recommend Water Tight Canberra and especially Aaron as the no 1 plumbing service in Australia.
